2024 Environmental Impact Report
As a paper shredding company, we play an important role in environmental stewardship. The primary purpose of a shredding company is to protect the sensitive information on documents that need to be discarded, but it is also our responsibility to help minimize the environmental impact of paper production by recycling.
Rock Solid Shredding proudly recycles 100% of the paper that we shred (and 99% of the hard drive material we destroy too).
In 2024, we shredded and recycled over 1,500 tons (or three million pounds) of mixed paper. Using data from the Department of Environmental Protection, this means we saved approximately:
8,000 trees
800,000 hours of electricity
2.4 million gallons of water
76,000 gallons of oil
“In 2024, we shredded and recycled over 1,500 tons (or three million pounds) of mixed paper.”
Paper gets a bad rap as being wasteful, when in reality it is one of the most renewable and easily recyclable products in the world (as long as it is disposed of properly). Anytime you use Rock Solid Shredding to destroy your documents, you can not only have peace of mind that your information is secure, but also that you are helping to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions associated with paper production.
